Storing duck eggs

So you can wash duck eggs and not put them in the fridge? I thought they would have to go in there. I know once you wash a chicken egg it should be in the fridge. Why are duck eggs different?

Let me know how the freezing goes. I've never frozen an egg before but if it doesnt affect the baked goods I might do it for them so I can free up some fridge space.

Do you just rinse them or do you wash them with soap? I’m nervous I’ll get sick if I don’t wash them with soap. Lol I just got my first 5 eggs the last 3 days. So I’m new at this.
How long can they stay on the counter? And what do you use to date them? Just a pen?
