Story Away!

yea...i am planning on making him a little cape on halloween....and buying/making a vest/harness and leash for him.
Fun! Sherlock's pretty much been a house roo since I found him hiding under branches. I brought some girls & 2 boys in to see how they'd get along. Thankfully it was just my other polish rooster that there was the whole hackles, bumping chests, etc. mess. So, I'm sure once I get his outside area built that he'll have a few friends I can put in with him. He's so sweet though. Relatively quiet too...he has started to find his voice. I'm worried if I keep in inside for too much longer that he won't adapt to outside. If he doesn't then I'll have to figure out something different. He's in the set up I had for the chicks before they went out. It takes up too much space to be permanent. Plus, I've noticed he doesn't use most of it. I could probably give him a rooster version of a large parrot setup. Oh, best not start that thinking or I'll have a house chicken!

I forgot to tell you....I think I have hats' twin....this is Einstein

beautiful chickies!

i need some help.
my australorp roo is becoming aggressive toward humans. not to me, but to guests. he recently started pecking a 1 year old. the thing is, he does it when i am not around/looking. no one is willing to stand up to him. i have punished him multiple times and he knows who is boss, but he still attacks people behind my back. and recently Hats mated for the first time, with one of the australorp's hens. Hats was in the coop, and i was holding the gate closed so the Aussie couldn't come in and tear Hats off. now i am making sure not to let him get near Hats, for the worry of him attacking/hurting Hatsie Patsie. the hen Hats mated with i like to call "rooster's charm" because they all love her...

For the roo attacking....ideally the others will stand up to him. What if you gave them the water bottle to squirt him? I'd hope you punishing him with the other humans there would do the trick. My Dad had the issue of my older roo attacking while I was gone...til he figured out to give them food & he was distracted. Granted, he was trying to gather eggs when he was being attacked.

Uh-oh.....hats is growing up. Is the other roo showing aggression to hats now? Awe...he got the popular girl! Good for him!

Thank you for saying they're beautiful.

These are the babies that I ordered from Ideal with the 6-29 hatch date. I'm really happy with how they've turned out.

Einstein has a bald spot that I keep putting stuff on & have to reapply daily at a minimum! The little bugger doesn't want me to do it, hates the stuff. He's going around like there's zilch wrong with his head. I tried to put him in with Sherlock, not a smart move. So he's running around happily partly bald. I keep an eye on it to be certain no problems develop.

It's weird how close their markings are & everything. I know the standard everyone tries to reach, but wow.

hi guys!
