Chapter 22
We all cooed in perfect harmony for the feeder girl.
"Good chicks!" She said. "I'm glad you all are okay."
Daddy crowed. It was good having the feeder girl with us.
"Hey look... a bird!" Someone said.
We all turned to look up at the sky, and so did the feeder girl.
"Uh oh... guys that's a haa.....aaawkkkk!!!!" Sandy cried.

We all turned away from the door and ran inside to a good hiding spot.
Suddenly, the feeder girl talked.
"Hey, don't worry guys. It doesn't see you yet. But, I wouldn't stay long after dark outside. Looks like it's here to stay."

Ugh... great.

Bad memories ran through my mind, so quickly I couldn't really distinguish what was real and just a memory.
"Hey... Sophie, baby. You alright?" Daddy asked.
"Oh sure... I'm fine. Just memories." I replied.

After getting fed, we all got a nice big bag of apples. My favorite! I quickly gobbled them down do no one else could take mine. All of a sudden, I noticed Doe was on the high perch.
"Whoa... how'd you get up there?"
No reply.
"Uh oh..." Daddy said, "Looks like we've got ourselves another rooster in the family!"
"COOOCKKKKLLLLEEEEE DOOOOOODDDDDDAAAAAAAA DOOOOOOO!!!"
