Stovepipe baffel against snakes?

Anybody use stovepipe baffel with any luck to keep snakes out of a coop?
.
I'll be elevating my coop 2 feet on 4x4 posts. Is this too short a height to bother with? Would a snake just climb around it?

I think a snake would climb around it.
I've seen them climb all sorts of things, they stretch to reach. Yeah...it can be creepy when you think about it.

Snakes climb trees, so there is probably not a lot to keep them from climbing up anything, unless you can make it unappealing for them to do so, it is probably a better plan to make sure that they can't get in.

I kind of figure a 2' stretch wouldn't be enough of a challenge. Thank you for confirming my suspicion. I've seen the baffels used on taller poles for songbird nesting boxes.

Chicken tea parties. Nah, SP baffel is a longish metal cuff latched unto a 4x4 at its' closed top, open at the bottom. Critters can still climb the 4x4 but get blocked from going further when they reach the point where it's nailed to the post

Thank you. Snakes are pretty clever at finding openings. Right. More 1/4" hardware cloth.
... Or, maybe a glass chicken coop? JK.
