Strange behavior?

I have noticed two of our chicks doing this. They are 5 weeks old. They will be running around and then plop on their side, spread a wing and stick a leg out. When i approach them they jump up and run. Any ideas?

Do you have their coop cool enough?

Outside temp was abt 72 and we have great ventilation in the coop. So, idk. My dad said he thinks that's just how they cool off. This is inly their second day in the coop and before that they were in our house/laundry room because it was soooo cold outside (20s/30s)

I see, I was just making certain you did not still have them in a heated brooder. Yes I think you dad is correct, although I am surprised they find 72 that hot.
