Our terrier had her puppies yesterday afternoon while I was gone. Quickly and apparently without problems. I left at 5:30 and by the time I got back at 8:30 she had 5 puppies, but one was an odd man out. I have had dogs before that kicked out a certain puppy, never could figure out why. DH said he had already put this one back once. I got it out and fed it a ittle goat milk, and Scruffy came and worried over it, so I carried it back to her nest. It was off to the side of the nest again this morning so I put it on a warm water bottle and fed it a little more, decided it was time to do the bottom wipe thing, and lo and behold, it wasn't there. No tail, no hole. I have never seen this before. I have heard about it in humans, but have never seen it in an animal. Poor thing, and of course the prettiest one of the bunch.
