If I did everything on the calculator right... then I'm fairly certain that if I cross Saffron back to butterscotch then I should get roughly 50% of both make a d female offer spring to be wheaten... Right?

YOOOOOOO... I think I miiiiight have done this correctly!!! Any ideas on if this might accurately show what Saffrons is? I tried re-going over everything with his past 3 generations

This is Butterscotch's grandpa along with his sister's. They're a dual purpose Italian breed from the Piemonte region which is where they got their name "Bionda Piemontese" aka "Buff Piemonte"! They're a super fascinating breed too! I feel like the hens look gold wheaten but since the roosters are seemingly black-tailed buff I think that kinda just what they are.

They definitely breed true though, here's the same breed from other breeders in my area

So... just wondering... how accurate is the genetics calculator on a scale of 1-10? I've been having way too much fun playing around with it and seeing how different genes interact but I wanna know how trustworthy it actually is in terms of accuracy

Accuracy is probably around 9 or 10 for some things (Extended Black is dominant over Partridge, Silver is dominant over gold, percent of offspring with certain gene combinations when crossing certain parents.)

Accuracy is much lower for some kinds of details (picture shows a chicken with Extended Black being black all over, but it can actually have leakage, sometimes lots of leakage. Chicken with Extended Black and I/i+ is shows as white all over, but would often be Paint in reality, because of black leakage.) Maybe 6 or 7 out of 10?

I can't assess accuracy for some other things (pick a color from the list, how many chickens have exactly those genes? There are many colors that can look alike while having very different genes involved. For example, a solid white chicken can be created in quite a few different ways.)

Overall, I don't know how to give a number to the whole thing.

Interesting! I was playing around with crossed silver Duckwing to mottling and got mottled silver Duckwing which I thought was really fascinating! However one thing caught me off guard... when I crossed a lakenvelder rooster to a mottled hen and crossed the F1 offspring to each other I got Black Patterned Silver Millefleur as a possible offspring which I never thought possible! I was like "WOW IMAGINE THAT COLOR IN A NON BANTAM BREED!!!'

I had realized that pretty early on when I did the cross for Black Sex Links and had to double check I had everything correct

But that does leave me with a question... Why does Vadakor have Crow Wing when the calculator doesn't show that as a possibility... I might reach out to the guy I got Vadakor from to see if I was miss informed about his parents
