strange bugs on my chicken

I just found some poultry lice around the vents of my laying hens.... does the Poultry Protector spray from Manna Pro help with this, or should i go with something that seems a big stronger....?
Use a Permethrin based spray or dust to treat your hens. Clean out your coop and nesting boxes, treat that too. Repeat in 7-10days.

You can find Permethrin at Tractor supply. Concentrate is usually the most economical way to go, get yourself a spray bottle for the hens and sprayer to treat the coop.
Alternatively, its more expensive, but Elector PSP (Spinosad) is a very effective treatment option too.

I just bought and used the Garden Star Poultry and Garden dust this morning. I cleaned out the coop, disposed of the bedding material in the coop and nest boxes, and then dusted the whole coop and replaced with new bedding. I also dusted each hen, under the wings and especially around the vent area where i saw most of the bugs. I also sprinkled dust on the roosts, and in the run which is natural mulch. Will that dust hurt if its on the mulch and the hens are digging and pecking through it????

Good for you!
I don't think it will hurt them if it's in the run, it will likely disappear quickly when turned by scratching.
