Strange chicken in our yard....

What type of chicken is this that we found in our yard?

It lays HUGE eggs...and answers to "Sheila" or "Nicole" (or even "Bruce")

Seriously...a strange site in Weld County, Colorado. This emu was found roaming wild ..

And for my American friends, it is pronounced ee-mwu not ee-moo.......and I promise to start calling it zee and not zed.

Wow, did you adopt it!? How great is that! Those are I think a little bigger of a bird than I want to deal with but I love seeing them.

That's one big bird!!!

How friendly is it? My friend once had an emu that was terribly aggressive, like a watchdog it chased everyone out of the yard. Everyone was afraid of that bird!
I hope yours is nicer.

How often does one get a lost "EMWU" in their yard! All I get are my neighbor's cat.....
