Strange crusty hole/scab on my EE

Thanks 'chickens really', 'Suzi18' and 'Miss Lydia', for your concern.

No news yet on this... as I have not taken her to the Vet yet. :-( I had some urgent (unplanned) family matters to attend to these past few weeks. Hope to take her in the next week.
In the meantime, she's doing well, laying eggs, everything else seems normal, etc. As soon as I learn more, I'll be sure to post here!

Hi Everyone, What a relief! I was finally able to bring my EE to the local Vet, so that strange crusty 'thing' could be looked at - and removed if needed. Our vet is also an avian vet (so grateful for that!)... and after poking around, removing some matter, and examining the scab/hole, she determined that it is *NOT* a bot, or any sort of worm/parasite that had entered into my EE's rear end. Whew! :yesss:
She said what remained looked a lot like a dried-up ingrown quill/follicle casing. She removed as much as possible but did not go deep to pull it all out. The hole looks like it's shrinking now, which is a good thing. It's an area I need to keep an eye on. If anything changes and things start looking strange again, I'll update here. Thanks All, for your feedback, support, suggestions and comments.
