Strange Discharge Appears after Hens Start Laying

I looked, but it seems to have soaked in to the hay or something. I didn't see bits of shell or anything.

If it was an egg that was eaten, they will eat everything.
Keep an eye out to see if it happens again especially if it isn't an eaten egg.

I had to see what this thread was about since it is titled Strange discharge appears after hens start HAYING. I figured it was a typo but sure would love to see chickens running a tractor!

Chances are it was a soft shelled egg, not unusual with new layers, that got mostly eaten.
Clean out the nest and put fresh bedding in it or it will stink within a few days.
