I have 2 whiting true greens in my flock. Im familiar with both birds.

Usually i have 2 perfect green eggs daily. Today i found this strange egg. It has creases & what looks like bubbles.

All the other eggs from my flock are perfect & this is the first strange abnormal egg i have ever found. Perfect eggs since thanksgiving when they started laying.

Can someone explain this? Anything to worry about?

Curious what is inside that egg and how thick the shell is.
Could be disease, or a malfunctioning shell gland, or a one off.
As long as bird is eating/drinking/pooping/moving around OK,
I'd not worry too much, not much you can do.

Well i came home & went out to get todays eggs & only one green one. That happens sometimes they miss a day. Hopefully tomorrow i have 2 green & both normal.

Both of my green egg layers came running to me with the rest of the flock to get some scratch grains & treats. They are eating & acting normal.

I cracked the egg onto a small plate to see what was inside. The shell cracked easier than usual & the egg looked normal except the white was a little watery around the edges. Took 2 pictures one with flash one without hoping you could see.

Sometimes wrinkly shells are thinner, sometimes they are thicker...
...and the wrinkles can be like 'fault lines'.

Did you know there is actually 4 components of albumen(whites)in an egg?
Some are thick and some are thin.

Yep, many birds don't lay every single day. :fl

I read that thread someone posted above. It could be one of many reasons. About 4 days before the strange egg was found I saw on the weather cold weather was coming. I went out & turned a heat lamp on. In the article it mentioned stress & a change in light cycles. Hoping thats it. We are back to warm weather so i turned the light off. Hoping shes back to laying normal eggs tomorrow
