look at the language - does that seem local? "advert" is a british term.... sounds more like one of the offshore scams. i would not even reply and i'd report them

Scammer.......Cashier checks are often stolen or fake...i never take them! Tell him to set up a paypal account and pay through that. 700 bucks, buddy better comewith some cash and i would wait till check clears. You will be responsible if it doesn't. You'll be out some $$$

It is a scam. I get responses like that all the time. I forward it to [email protected] and add that email addy to my spam filter list.

Those types of scams are very common these days. I have advertised on CL a lot lately, and get many of those types of responses. Don't even answer the note, because then they have your email address. Report them and don't respond.
