She is a beauty, must be that Karma thing. All of my 4 legged furry pals have come to me in one way or another.

I thought the same thing. I posted an ad on Craigslist, the newspaper and called the humane society.

I don't know what else to do to help reunite her with her owner. The newspaper ad won't be out until tomorrow and I know that the humane society isn't always the best at matching lost calls with found calls. We will see what this week brings.

I found a cocker spaniel a few years ago about a mile from his home. He was older, but was obviously fed well. I posted an ad for him in the newspaper, on craigslist and at the humane society, and didn't get a phone call for about a week.

The owner called the LAST day the ad ran in the newspaper, because she had JUST realized that her dog was missing. Oh, we thought he went off and died somewhere.

This was the sweetest dog, and she went on to tell me stories about how he would jump out of the second story window to get away from her daughter. The same daughter would LOCK the cat in the closet all day, to make sure she was there when she got home.

I felt sick after dropping that dog back off at his home. I made a vow to very carefully screen people who don't respond to a found ad immediately.

Sometimes the best pets are the ones that God delivers to you...My two abandones girls (lab mixes) that I found are the most amazing dogs, they are agressive owards strangers ( Maybe they were abused or "intimidated prior to being abandoned?) but they are the gentlest with the family, most loyal, eager to please little angels

Does imposter molly get along good with original Molly?

You aren't kidding!! Spook has saved my life numerous times and helped my student with seizures as well. I never planned on getting a dog while we were living in someone else's house. But God put her out there in that graveyard crying so I could find her. She hasn't left my side since.

Imposter Molly seems like a keeper. No word from any owner, despite an ad in the newspaper, on Craigslist and at the humane society.

She's well behaved, in great condition, and gets along with our dogs wonderfully. We really couldn't ask for a better dog to add to our family, so I agree with many others that it appears that it was meant to be.

Here's to great dogs

did you take her to the local vet to see if they recognized her OR if she has a chip in her?

I chipped Sloan ( black lab) Who is so friendly he would go with anyone. The only time hes territorial is when hes out in the yard with his momma.

I didn't take her to the vet, but that's only because there are probably 30+ small animal vets in this town. As I said earlier, I put an ad on craigslist, in the (only) newspaper in the town, and informed the humane society of her presence.

I havn't taken her to see if she is microchipped. I might see if the shelter will do that for me. The reasons I've been hesitant are these...

1) I've hit the 3 major spots where someone would be looking for a lost dog

2) I had a VERY bad experience with finding a lost dog a few years back, owners didn't even bother looking for the dog for a week. When I went to return him, they told me stories about how he would jump out of the second story window, and their daughter would lock the cat in the closet ALL day so he would be there when she got home from school. There were other stories too, but I'm not sure I can post them here. I have little to no sympathy for people who can't be bothered to pick up a copy of the local newspaper or put a call in to the humane society to pick up their dog.

That said, if they contact me, I will return her. I would just have a very difficult time returning a dog to a situation like the one before, and I don't want to seek out a home which doesn't really care about her.
