strange holes

You didn't say where you lived but I have a different "animal" for you. I live in southeastern WV and we have a creek that runs on the back of our propery. The first year we were here, I kept finding these holes in the yard. Some were about a quarter in size and a lot of them were softball size and larger. I never saw anything in them during the day, so one night I got the flashlight and went out with my son to attempt to find out what made the holes. Believe it or not, it was crawdads (or crayfish depending on your neck of the woods) making the holes. I had never seen one almost the size of a lobster!

I know here it could be crawdads or chipmunks. Good luck!

I say rats.
Wanna find out for sure put down some glue traps right in front of the holes if they are crossing then they will get stuck if the chooks don't get to them first lol...

do you have a barn cat? we had little holes and wires chewed all over the barn. After we got ourselves a few barn cats we realized what was causing damage based on what they brought us. On the door step we have had the cats bring rats, mice, snakes, moles, a squirrel...

it wouldnt be a chipmunk there holes ate about the size of a silver dollar
