Eye color and actual structure of parts of the eye are totally different things. An animal being born with 2 different colored eyes being no concern does not mean that differences in the structure of an eyeball is not concerning. Structure of the pupil, differences in structure and changes in the structure can be indicative of many problems from trauma to disease.
