Strange Question, but must know...

I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw Ese's Spurs for the first time while he was watching TV with me.... He has feathery feet, being a cochin, and so they were all of a sudden there. I see major karate moves coming from the Spurt action...the way they hold themselves in the air while trying to spike these nails into you...or the dog... is quite substantial....thank god I chose a breed that doesn't weigh more than two pounds. I have a friend who has at least 100 chickens...and this one small guy looks like he has switch blades stuck to his legs....and he beats all the other men on the block....and has quite a few females to boot. I've read weird ways to cauterize the spur...including using a hot baked potatoe...but Considering my love for my baby...I'm more concerned with him splitting his spurs...(they bleed on occasion...which I think is because they are still growing)...but if I had to remove them for safety...I'd have a vet who is familiar with birds do it.
