Ok, I was at a new feed store (first time checking it out, actually has been there for really long time) and the fellow told me that you have to be careful of Pea chicks eating their own poo due to enzimes that are fatal to them. He said that they are very fragile in their first 3 months of life.

This came up as we were discussing feed for them as this nice fellow raises peafowl and has been doing so for 13 years.
Has anyone else heard this before?
Is this true or just some wacky statement?

It sounded very strange to me, but as a newbie I figured I would ask.

I never heard of this in any bird however they can get sick from eating other birds poo like chickens because of blackhead
I have raised 2 batches from chicks and they all ate their poo and none of them died mabe i just got lucky
