I am curious and am pretty new to chickens. We got our first Australorp chicks in March and have been adding them ever since.
My main roo has been making some interesting noises. I let some of his flock out - the non-laying hens. He has been making a high pitched barking sound. I have no idea what he is trying to say... Usually he and my #2 roo will roar back and forth to each other, but only he is making this noise.
Insight...anyone?
Also, I have been trying to integrate my flock with the main Australorps, but they do no seem to be accepting them. I had two Brahma pullets in with the Australorps and maran x Lorp crosses, but the original group is not accepting them. They did however accept the guineas, so what is going on there?
