Strange Tracks in Pen *Logical Conclusion on Page 46*

Don't feel bad...everyone OBVIOUSLY loves a mystery

For me it was a great ending...I love chickens but I love Rats too after having several as pets. I'm happy to see the despised rat as a star for once. I still would relocate her....however you get that done whether literal or figural. Rats breed fast. Best of luck!!!!

The mystery was so exciting!!!! Couldn't wait to see what it would be. So glad it wasn't a snake!!! We had an 8 ft long black snake eating our eggs last year!!!! Scared the chicken poop out of me!!! Hubby got ride of him!!1 Love that man

Ive seen some huge sows around here, when we first moved here, they would come into my garage to eat dog food and would hide up in the rafters with several young. I would say some were the size of a a med sized dog, freaky!!! My hoarder neighbor feeds cat food to the raccoons so they will leave her chickens alone

You should see the herds of them crossing the road to her place at dusk....

Anyway, no hating here, but Im not sure what else it could have been! It was a hind foot track, paws were raccoon-like, and the heel part was long and narrow like a raccoon. DD says it was probably a Manticore.

Fluffy has had her time in the spotlight, infrared that is... now to the tragic but unavoidable ending. Goodbye Fluffy and good riddance. We support you Enchanted. You have given us all so much. Now you must do your worst. Take that rat for a long ride in the country

Here are the continuing adventures of Fluffy. Hope it will be a very short continuance as i'm getting ticked that's she's sprinting around my pens all night. This morning in that back pen were very definite tracks leading out from under the shed. All the rocks were pushed out and about. The pictures didn't turn out as clear as they are in person. But amazing that one rat can make such strong tracks just by running back and forth a million times.

i hope i don't offend anyone, but since Fluffy is too smart to trap, i may have to help her onto her next step with other means. i'm sure she will come back to haunt me, though.

kfchickenlady, maybe the raccoon track was so long because it slid in the mud, sliding the track out longer than the foot print? Just thinking. But i have seen some pretty big coons myself. First house we lived in down in Los Angeles backed up to a water drainage canal. One night my cats were going crazy in the house and i looked out the window to see about five huge raccoons right outside the window. They were all about the size of a German Shepherd and totally fearless. Glad i kept my cats indoors!

Cover the trap up with leaves or pine straw it makes it look like a cozy little hole then put nuts, cheese, peanut butter, or something like that in it. We dont want to go to drastic measures to get rid of Fluffy. IE shooting him.
