And so the thread continues.....

kfchickenlady, how far do you live from the OP? Perhaps the mystery creature has traveled to your area................................(jaws music in background)

I think Im about 2 hrs away....but seriously, it creeped me out, it was a raccoon hind foot in soft mud, I should see if its still there, outside the duck pen. I thought it couldnt be a coon, too big. It was a hind foot, had to be at least 6 inches long...ugh. *takes off to get a pic before sunset*

OH NO!!! Glad to know the first mystery is solved, but now I'm stuck again for the latest.... mutant raccoon on the loose....

That's too big for a coonie. (trust me on this, I have been working with raccoons for years - try not to hate me, I know they prey on chickens, but when I rehab them I release them in the middle of 650,000 acres of uninhabited national forest, so *my* animals are not raiding coops)

I have a game camera, and have vids and pics of bears, foxes, a very belligerent crow, some jays, some coyotes, some raccoons... but I don't yet have any chickens, so I guess I fail part of the game camera guessing game test.

Obviously, the reason I don't have chickens yet is that I am preparing a predator-proof pen that can withstand a bear or a mountain lion. It's proving to be a bit of a challenge.

aawwwww I hate to say it but shoot Fluffy. S/he will dothing nice to the birds.... Sad
