strangely acting ducks

They are sleeping right now so I think in the morning I will give them electrolytes.

Keep an eye on them, and please let us know how they are in the morning.

Myself, I would get the electrolytes in their water tonight. They do have water with them, yes?

Thanks for checking in with us here. Hope to hear more from you.

yes go add the electrolytes now so when they get up during the night they are there. sav a chick powder is a GREAT item to have on hand. You can find it at Tractor supply.

I wont be on in the morning as we have site inspections/consults for some customers here but will check emails as much as possible for PMs and updates.

Thanks, I have great news

I went out and gave them electrolytes and when I opened they're door they were almost back to normal. I think maybe they just drank too fast and got a bit of a belly ache. They still weren't fighting too hard when I picked them up, but they did react alot when I gave them their electrolytes. Keep hoping that they get even better.

Thanks so much,

Thanks, CelticOaksFarm.

Thebirdwisperr, I would put electrolytes in their water so they can have a slow dose over the next day or so. Wonderful news that they are still with you! Ducks hide illness very well, so please keep a close eye on them and monitor their behavior and environment. I need to turn in now, but will check for updates in the morning. And, probably later tonight, but not for sure. Depends on how many interruptions happen before bedtime.

That was a scare for me. So, now that things are back to normal, can you tell us about their personalities? Please keep us posted. Also, I would watch out and try to avoid any kind of stress for them for a few days. Ducks hide illness, so they may not be feeling superexcellent yet.

Sure thing. My ducks are named Cole and Jake; Cole's personality is that he isn't smart( he has I think pretty much no brains in his adorable head

), but he's really sweet if you can get him to stop struggling when you pick him up. He has a small tuft on the back of his head( also Cole can be a bit of a biter). His brother is Jake. Jake is smart and quick to learn that struggling doesn't get him free when people pick him up. He also is less rambunctious than his sibling and is much smarter than Cole too

. Interestingly they don't have a pecking order, except with the chickens, then only the rooster and the lead hen are over them.
Also when they have been separated for whatever reason when they get back together they have to talk all about what happened!

I hope I haven't bored you with telling you about my rouen ducks.

Sincerely,
Thebirdwisperr
