Strawberries?

Can my 11 1/2 and 4 1/2 month old hens have strawberries???

I have found mine like strawberries, blackberries, cascade berries, and raspberries. I grow my own so the over ripe ones go to the "kids".

yes they can! Mine enjoy the tops of strawberries, but they don't like them as much as they like eating other things; but try feeding 'em some! They might love em

Ok thanks everybody! I am new to chickens, so I dont know what they can and can not eat.

Mine will only eat berries of any kind if they are mashed up

I grow them in my garden and any time I find one that has been eaten a bit by bugs I give it to the chicks and they love it.

As I just found out the other day, my girls (15 weeks old) won't eat strawberries. We bought a half-flat of berries, and I saved all the tops knowing that the chickens would love them. What's not to love: greens, sweet fruit and crunchy little seeds...they are even RED, a chicken's favorite color! Nope. They peck once or twice, look at me like I'm insulting them by offering such an inferior snack, then go back to busily tearing up my lawn.

I really hope their tastes become more diverse as they get older...but I've been hoping that for a while now.
