"I don't think so," he said.
"I don't think so," he said.
(Alice) "The mean cats house? Huh, I wonder how I'll get to it, maybe I could be nice to her! Yes! That would get her to let me in! Come on Sarah!"(Alice) "Hmm, what will I do? I need a map."
(Sarah) "I saw a map! I saw a map! It was in the mean cats house!"
Maiya wasn't quite sure where exactly she was. After that odd encounter with the pretty calico cat, she'd wandered all over the place, feeling more and more lost. Then she saw a silver tabby padding on the fence. Was it Mira? No, it was her mother... "Echo!" she cried, and the tabby immediately jumped off the fence gracefully and landed in front of Maiya. "What's wrong," Echo said, concerned.
"I'm, er, lost," Maiya said.
Echo gave a small laugh. "When you're a stray, you have no home," Echo said. "But it always takes new strays a bit of time to learn their way around the place. Come on, let's just find somewhere to spend the night." She put her tail across Maiya's back and led her up into a small, abandoned tree house.
"I want my humans back," Maiya meowed quietly. "I want to see the little girl again."
Echo didn't say anything, she simply began grooming Maiya comfortingly.
Charcoal opened her eyes, giving a huge yawn. Clematis and Mira were still sleeping, and she didn't know where Mist was. She arched her back and extended her claws for a nice stretch.
