Stray chicken in CT needs home***PIC added*** Dominique?

Thanks everyone. I feel like running out the shed and hugging her and telling her everyone thinks she is so pretty! I've named her Clara. Well, really she looked at me and said, "Hi Mom, my name is Clara!"

Keep her she is a great hustler if she lived 3 weeks on her own. Very nice pic! She has the rose comb, I call her a Dominique, but she is a little mixed. The true Dominique will have solid yellow legs and beaks. Notice the stained legs and beak on her. Her bars are broken which is good. The comb looks good too. Just keep her she is very nice!! Could be the GREAT ONE!!

Nice name Clara. My kids once had a Calico cat named Clara Bell.

LOL, I called her Clara Bell when I tucked her in for the night! She may become Bella, because I realized the baby girl nextdoor to us is named Claire and I don't want them to think I'm calling her if they hear me calling "Clara"!
The hen is in the pen in the shed (sounds like a sentence in 1st grade reading primer!) and I have the door open with some fencing across it so the other hens can't get in. She can see out, they can see in but there's a few feet of space between them. Is that enough to be considered isolation? She's been away from any other chickens for three weeks and looks healthy. Can that be considered isolation?

My only laying hen lays white eggs and Clara, the dominique is separated from the other hens anyway so I KNOW the little brown one is hers! Yay!
It had a little streak of blood on it. So I wonder, has she not been laying and just started up again, or is she new to laying and younger than some thought based on her legs?

I would say shes not been laying long, the eggs will get bigger. Mature Dominiques lay a med+ size egg. Tell Clara Bell I said Hi....
