Here are pictures of Annie from last week. Her new owner just put her in with the rest of the flock today and did quite well. He said he was happy to see her get a little aggressive with another bird. She’s finding her place!

Well now if this doesn’t bring tears to my eyes... who is cutting onions?

Thanks for the update. I've been wondering about our little orphan, Annie. She's not so ugly any more, is she? I love a happy .... middle. 'Cuz this is definitely not the end of Annie's story. Bless you, OP, for rescuing her. We love you for it! Remember, I told you - love always wins.

I’m not sure, whatever breed is typical for factory chickens I guess! It’s all white. I’m not sure if it’s still laying. If they were exterminating it’s probably old and done or near done.

Factory egg chickens are exterminates young; as soon as their laying slows. Chickens in factories don’t get old

Oh the poor thing. Looks like they force molted the layer house to shock the hens into final egg production before gassing them. That’s common practice in the egg industry. Just take them off food and water for a week or two and they go into molt, once that happens they give them food again and they will lay real well for a few weeks and then they gas them.
