Hi, sorry I am not really sure what forum to post this in. I live in Saint Petersburg Florida and for about two weeks we have had five stray chickens hanging out in our alley. I have talked to my neighbors and none of them know who the chickens belong to. I don't know too much about chickens but they look like five separate breeds and are not the kind sold at the local pet store. It is starting to get really hot out and they seem stressed out. I have checked craigslist and no one is looking for them. I feel really sorry for them but I can't take them in, my roommate is terrified of birds. I am not sure whether I should contact animal services or the spca, I wouldn't want them to be euthanized. Any advice would be much appreciated.

hi brtg88

Is there a chance your room mate could --- overcome the fear of birds? Chickens make very nice pets. At a minimum they will need water. If you could put a low tub of water out for them it may help them survive.

Next step, probably you should contact animal control. They may have a way to get them adopted out. ---

Welcome to the forum. Hope you get a lot of good suggestions of how to deal with the issue.
