Difference between Wood Duck ducklings and Mallards. Wood ducks on the left. Stripe ends at eye, mallard stripe continues past eye. Mallard's light colouring is quite yellow.

Again, Woodies on the left, Mallard on the right. Also, if you get an orphaned duckling who never stops jumping, you most likely have a Wood Duck. Those things sometimes jump themselves to death. They expend all their energy jumping and never settle down well enough to eat. Give me a Mallard any day.

the ones in the second pic are Call Ducks....the third pic is a wood duck. but they all are very similar and
also look like a Mallard ..but it it was found , more likely to be a wood duck or mallard.. I raised an abandoned
wood duck last summer (pic 3) and he was soooo awesome..

I have sliding doors in the brooder seperateing it from a wire run , and it has holes in it to insert finger to operate , it was jumping trying to get to the hole but didn't keep it up long .
This is the only duck I have except fot the McDonald print in my office.
