He looks like he's doing fairly well! I did notice that it appears like a couple of your hens are molting? Those hens might take longer to warm up to him because their pin feathers are hurting right now (and they don't want to be touched as a result).Aw so sweet. I want to be Snow White!
No an RIR is head hen but a barred is a close second. I couldnāt tell by the butt who this was.
Also, how do we rate his manners when sharing a plate of snacks?
That's actually quite normal. I've had several roosters who's favorite time to mate was in the morning, even if they didn't have a hen to mate with.Good morning! Itās really going well to my surprise! The mornings are a bit frantic since this seems to be when he wants to mate. The gals arenāt to keen on that part yet so they tend to stay in the coop longer than normal. But it eases up and they do great all through the day. Thanks for asking!
