Streamer feathers??

Not sure if it’s too soon, our silkies are about 10 weeks old…. Are these streamer feathers? Do I have 3 Roos?!?!?

I am not an expert, but I still think it's too early to tell. I have two Silkies. I was absolutely certain I had a pair... until my cockerel laid an egg.

Others who are more experienced will chime in, I'm sure. They're super cute!

It's too early for male indicative streamers because male feathering doesn't come in until after 12 weeks. But the comb is looking pretty well developed for so young, so you may have a cockerel.

Oh, sorry, I meant the paler bird. The other looks more female. But it's really too early for sexing Silkies, imo. They are tough.

I agree looks like it's still too soon to tell with these guys. I do get some little cockerels that have streamers as young as 10 weeks old but yours don't appear to have grown in enough yet to help make a determination of gender. Different lines can mature at different rates but I've found with my silkies by 15 weeks or so I can usually tell by absence or presence of streamers whether from my own line or others. Occasionally you may get a really late bloomer but I've only seen that rarely.
