I agree I love to sit with the girls and just chill out. It is very relaxing to sit and watch them. They come up and talk to you the next thing you know you are having a long talk with a chicken.

B/c that is how I feel. i would much rather spend time watching my chickens, and being with my chickens than being with ppl and be subjected to their lies and gossip, etc etc. chicken are relaxing--ppl are stressful.

DH got me a hammock for my birthday and I picked a spot the perfect distance from the coop and garden! I love it. The chickens can't get up there to poop, but can walk underneath me to have chats. Same wasy with the cats. It's a lovely place to read a book in between chicken chats, too.

In the mornings I open the door to the screened in porch and listen to the roos learn to crow while I get breakfast and such. My neighbor drinks her coffee and listens to my birds from her porch in the mornings.

whenever i need some "quiet time", or time to think on something. i go in my backyard. right before dark. and just sit in a chair listening to my chickens/birds chirping. crickets. if right before a rain storm. tree frogs croaking in the trees. its so peaceful :}. in the country so no cars or trains. No one around here comes outside really. so outside with my chickens is my "get-a-way spot"

We built a 12x12'deck onto out house this spring and my DH made sure it was in view of our chicken run(about 75ft away), It gives me great pleasure to sit in a comfy chair on the deck with a glass of tea and watch the chickens. A great end to a stressful day of teaching teenagers!
