Our smallest red link has some major problems with her wings. I didnt even notice it when we got them yesterday. Lesson learned, look the chickens over well. They look as if she has been mauled by something. I'm attaching pictures. Will the feathers grow back? Is there anything I can or should be doing to help?

We didnt think she was a rescue, but she came from a farm with all sorts of foul, turkeys, pigeons, geese, etc. that were all roaming together. She is on layer, and she is also the one that laid the soft shell egg this morning. So glad to hear they will grow back I'm so glad we got her now if it was another bird there doing this to her. I'll get her some extra protein too. Thank you!!

Did she have access to roam on greens outside and scratch for bugs or were they roaming in an enclosure?

Keep an eye on that soft egg. It could have been just once from the stress of the move. But if it continues, I would treat her with calcium citrate. It’s actually pretty easy to pop a pill into a chicken beak, but you could always crush it into raw egg yolk, too. Does she have oyster shell available free choice?
