I bred a Blue Copper Marans to my flock. I know her mom is one of my pea combed hens, and that leaves me a couple of options;

Buff Brahma
Splash Oliver Egger mixes (2 different hens)
Splash Brahma
Green Queen mix
Lavender Ameraucana
A blue/red Easter Egger (idk how to describe her other than blue and red. Red base with blue on top and splotchy)
Blue/Red Olive Egger mix (almost looks laced)

I love her but she confuses me 😂 she's squatting for me and Ive been finding tiny little olive eggs outside of the nest boxes. Egg picture for tax.

I forgot one - a buff olive Egger mix. Her mom was buff orpington and her dad was a generations deep olive egger. She has passed away since I hatched these guys.

She looks to be splash, I see a blue streak in her tail. So you can rule out the lavender and buff hens. That head and dewlap makes me think she's probably a brahma mix. But I'd really expect heavier leg feathering from a brahma mix.

Maybe pictures of the potential mom's would help? (At least it wouldn't hurt...I know i like looking at pictures of other people's chickens)

Most likely a splash or blue hen with leakage was her mother. Splash x blue gives 50% blue and 50% splash offspring. She herself is splash with leakage.

A buff brahma hen x blue Marans could not give you splash chicks unless she was blue buff Colombian rather than regular Colombian. Basically I'm saying no hen with black anywhere in the plumage will be her mother. It has to be blue or splash.

One of my olive egger mixes is half brahma. Her mom is the splash brahma in the pen, but her dad was the multiple generations in olive egger mix. His legs were sparsely feathered, and even her mom doesn't have super dense feathering on her feet like the buffs have.

The olive egger mix daughter has feathered feet, but my blue birds all seem to have cleaner shanks in comparison to the buffs or even my Partridge Cochin.

The two splash standing side by side are mother and daughter. Mom's on the right.

The solid buff bird is a buff orpington mix.

The splash daughter and the buff orpington mix share the same dad - a blue barred olive egger.

This splash hen was also sired by the same blue barred olive egger. No leg feathering, but she carries the genes for it. I think she has ONE single little leg feather 😂

The dad to the bird I'm asking about as tax.

These are her siblings. The blue barred guy looks JUST like his grandpa. His mom is the OE*Brahma cross - she creates sex linked males for me since she hides the Barring gene.
