I wanted to thank you for posting this because I read the "Cut some big ole holes in your coop now" page and some of the posts in this thread, and my stubborn hubby who I have been bickering with for days now has finally decided ours might need another window and not just a couple of small soffet vents. We have 2 large window/vents on the front (North facing) and 1 long vent on the side (East facing) and he is convinced that is enough. I told him that we need atleast one more window for cross ventilation and I plan to put on solar vents as well. He doesn't agree with me but just got a great idea, maybe we should add another long vent on the south facing side for cross ventilation.

Gotta love the hubby's way of thinking...wish I'd have thought of it

If he doesn't listen go out there with a 2 inch drill bit and drill a bunch of holes into it about 6 inches apart, then cover those holes with hardware cloth and call it the polka dot coop.
