Stuck egg, what do I do?

Its possible then that you did scratch the shells or they had cracks in them to start with. Not very likely that a graphite pencil would have an acid in it that would eat the egg shell.

No, I didn't think so. The pencil wasn't sharp enough to have pierced the shell, I think it was just me running the pencil back and forth to get it to write on the bumps.
