Between the hand slapping, hand wringing ,head bangings and all the other crazy things we do to ourself its a wonder we are not commited.
My first eggs of this year went into lock down yesterday.
I usally take a break when cold weather hits and take up as soon as the hens start laying more wich was suprising they started in January.
So I have 2 eggs that made it to lock down, others proubly froze before I notice the egg laying pick up.Plus they where laying them in every hidding spot they could.
So I keep slapping my hand everytime the thought of opening the bator crosses my mind.

Im usally not abusive to myself on purpose untill its lock down time.

Lessee, I have tripped over things running to the incubator room when I thought I heard a peep. I have made near-permanent alterations to the shape of my nose from pressing it tightly to the 'bator and turning my head this way or that to see "better.". I have cut off circulation to my finger sitting on my hands.

All Lockdown Injuries.

Gotcha.

Linda you gotta watch out or you will look like this:

HAHA what a cute pic!

I think I already do look like that and I'm not even into lockdown yet. My cockatiels are gonna go nuts when they start peeping lol.

Yipes, so this is what I have to look forward to, eh? LOL! It ain't even Lockdown time... our eggs have only been in there a day and a half... and you should see Farmer Lew... the only time he ventures more than 8 feet from the bator is for the 5 following reasons:
1) To go outside and see the already-running-around chickens.
2) To go to the bathroom.
3) To go to work.
4) To check the kitchen for food.
5) To come to the computer and look up more hatching crap on BYC..... LOL!

ETA: He just reminded me of reason #6 -- to work on building coops for wonderful friends!

Maybe it's a good thing my new incubator doesn't have a window. I spent a lot of time staring at nothing during lockdown. Can't think of any injuries though besides strained eyes and a bad back from crouching over the bator.
