So I got looking at the 2 small ones today. The buff has a twisted beak, it doesn’t scissor but the whole thing is crooked. I am wondering if there are also internal problems going on, the black one looks fine externally but it’s always acting cold and huddles under the lamp.

Same here (aside from small and no feathers for his age) externally looks fine but does always seem cold! He also has curled wing feathers. Have yours at all? I was doing a bit of online research and signs point towards a disease - I didn't understand it too well. It mentioned stunted growth and curled wing feathers. But none of my other babies were affected and he was rejected from the nest overnight which resulted in almost death, so I've always presumed it was directly related. It's so weird, still doesn't seem like he's growing!

are you still providing heat for him? Mine have normal feathers just not a lot of feathers total. Hope they start filling in soon. Keep me updated on your little guy.

I am providing heat in the brooder, but they are mostly outside during the day as it's pretty warm here (spring weather normally 20-30 degrees celsius). They are in and out of the brooder a little bit, BJ prefers the heat but big chicken flies out to go bug hunting. His only feathers still are wing feathers but they seem a little weird! Will do - and you too, very interested to see how yours go
I'll keep the photos updated also. He *seems* like he's at least getting taller!

Well update on my stunted chick. He’s getting some wonky feathers in but hasn’t got any bigger. He’s the one with the blue dot and beside him are 3-4 week old chicks.

I think it's cool having 1 stunted chick..... you always miss them being little when they do finally grow up.
