Stupid Idea- Unless.....? bonnet for quail?

Idea!
My quails are all settled and laying eggs like there’s no tomorrow! 2-1 a day on a regular basis. I have developed quite the taste for quail eggs! So creamy and rich! my female’s bald spot seems to be getting dry, and I bought some blue-kote to try and moisten it or I’ll use Vaseline. One idea I had however was fastening a small knitted cowl for the neck/head. Yay or nay? Seems like it might be too stressful for Pip.

I can't imagine a quail keeping one on. You would have to tie it on, which would be difficult, stressful for the bird, and it might choke itself trying to get it off if it didn't just scrape it off right away.

No, I'm sure it would somehow get tangled and end tragically unfortunately or just fall off in the best scenario...on the other hand, it would make an absolutely adorable photoshoot for a short term, monitored period of time.

Got it! Thanks all, this was just me being stupid. That’s what I get for knitting hats for my nieces! Made me think I could apply it to quails as well silly!

Well... their generations go by pretty quickly. Unless gentleness is somehow associated with an undesirable trait, it might be worthwhile. It’s one of my goals with my chickens, but alas I have yet to see any of the cockbirds dancing for the ladies. The whole scalping thing is a negative for me in my good/bad list for maybe getting into quail. Still debating...
