Stupid mating question.

It's a part of it. Mind you the last eggs i got around here were late Oct. I don't expect much more happening, there too busy keeping warm nowadays for er.. extracurricular activities lol

Are they supposed to lay like chickens "all the time" or do they have a clutch or two and then stop?

Mine lay like chickens of course till winter. I would get 5 eggs a day!

No they lay frequently BUT i find this depend on the duck i have some who are better layers than others. That said ducks are considered seasonal layers, so i don't expect much after about Oct/Nov although some girls did lay last winter.

I got 7 eggs out of her (well..she laid them and then I discovered them. Once I discovered them...she waited like 2 weeks and then laid 5 more. 3 months later...she laid 6. (And that was last week)! That's it.

Yea, in the spring until next winter I will get 35 eggs a week from My scovies
