I've always protected the non-poisonous snakes around our farm until we started keeping chickens, you have to protect them from all predators including neighbors dogs, cats, coons, snakes,....etc its just something you have to do if you raise farm animals. Being politically correct just dont cut it when youre raising animals that are so vulnerable to predation. would you let coyotes that eat lots of mice feed on spring lambs or calves? I agree most snakes (and all wildlife) are cool but when they cross the line and feed on domestic animals just out of convenience that is out of balance and should be dealt with as the owner sees fit. Relocate the snake, kill it or just let it go to return next week for another meal its up to you and no one else...its your hobby, lifestyle, investment or whatever you want to call it but it is however up to the individual and no one else!
