Sturdy fencing

Hi everyone. I am in need of suggestions for inexpensive fencing to keep my dogs from going into my run. Any and all suggestions welcomed. Thanks!!!

TSC has 47" x 330' rolls of goat fence for 150$ a roll.
You could also use the 100' rolls of welded wire, you can get those for under 100$.

I put landscape timbers 2ft in the ground and attach 6 ft welded wire with nail in staples for my runs

How big is your run? You can use metal t-posts, or wood posts, or a combination of the two. You could set wood corner posts with floating angle braces and use t-posts in between, or use t-posts on your corners too with t-posts for angle braces with an attachment kit you can get at the hardware store.

Great!! Thanks. I have the Tposts now, didnt know they had a special name. Lol. I used this flimsy green plastic chicken like wire and I need something better. This is a great suggestion.

1/2 inch hardware cloth is your friend. Kees dogs and just about everything else from getting into the run. Not cheap but other wire fence products can be breached easily.

I used chain link to keep my birds in and dogs out.
I already had it so it works for me.

What you need for fencing will likely depend on how big/determined your dogs are.

My dogs are ....... well ..... big.

If my dogs were Pomeranian sized I certainly wouldn't NEED as strong of a fence.

Chain link is a great choice for keeping dogs out and birds in. My run is made from 2 separate 10x10 chain link dog runs connected to form 1 single 10x30 chicken run. The problem isn't dogs using this method. Its everything else, especially raccoons. They can reach through the chain link and grab a bird, pull its head through and decapitate it. Fox will dig under the fence. For that matter so will a determined dog. And of course scazillions of other critters can get inside...snakes, rats, other birds, fishers and other weasel types, and on an on. My run is covered in 1/2 inch hardware cloth with the 2-3 foot wide apron and rooftop covering of the same. Rooftop not only because of hawks and owls but because most previously mentioned critters climb easily. 1/2 inch hardware cloth is worth every penny.
