1 silkie egg has hatched last night noticed a crack and chirping..This morning a little chick very gooey...this afternoon she is very noisy...looking through the glass the other 29 mixed eggs appear untracked. ..put them in on the 30th...I shouldn't worry till about Friday right?

From what I've read, the smaller breeds like silkies do hatch earlier than the larger breed chickens. I wouldn't give up!

I've hatched out many Silkie eggs and some come earlier than 21 days. I also don't use an incubator anymore. I have found that the mothers do a better job and the hatch rate is higher. When they are a few days old the mother starts taking them out to explore. The only thing I do is make sure they have water and food available.
