Success rate on shipped eggs

I've had great hatch rates and I've had horrible hatch rates. It has alot to do with how they're shipped.

I've gotten 12 chicks from 16 Marans shipped from the middle of the country. None broken or damanged. EXCELLENT SHIPPING METHOD THAT I TRY TO COPY WHEN I SHIP EGGS!

I've gotten 14 chicks from 18 eggs shipped from Illinois. None broken or damaged. Packaged great.

8 shipped from Georgia (just a state away from me) and 2 were broken and none hatched.

8 shipped from New York, none broken but only 1 hatched.

The list could go on and on...

I feel like the less I mess with the eggs while incubating, the better my hatch rate is. So I don't even candle my shipped eggs. I also don't pay any attention to the air cells. It goes to the more I mess with the egg, the more damaged the fragile integrity is.

I also feel like a bigger box gives the eggs a better chance of being shaken so much. The eggs I receive that are packed in small boxes don't tend to hatch as well.
