Love the idea of this thread because it can be discouraging seeing nothing but sick chickens who don't recover.

Don't have pictures of my girls right now but our Barred Rock Scarlette required pretty round the clock care when she was a chick for failure to thrive. Had to force feed high protein foods and Nutri-Drench for about 2 weeks.

More recently our Buff Orpington Laverne had a shell-less egg bust inside of her and was looking pretty bad for about 2 days, to the point where we were fairly sure we would find her dead in the morning. Luckily after a warm bath, a round of antibiotics, and some babying she pulled through and is just now getting to where she's starting to lay again.

Moing had slipped tendons/splay leg and a potential valgus deformity (no xrays to confirm). She came out of the incubator that way. About a week of various contraptions and late nights, and she’s motoring around beating up her little d’uccle friends. She’s a week and a half now and is like a normal chick for the most part. Still stands a bit wider than most, especially when the surface is slippery, and her balance isn’t 100% - she shakes her head and falls over. Lol.
