Hi all! Thanks for your help yesterday with my "lockdown" questions. Five out of 9 eggs have hatched and the other 4 have externally pipped. It's getting crowded in their though so when is it safe for me to remove old shells to at least to make room? I don't want to compromise the unhatched eggs.
One of my good momma hens is broody so hopefully I'll be able to put the babies under her tonight! (This method has worked for her before)

after dark tomorrow, that is when I would move the dry ones to the broody hen

But is it unsafe for me to open the incubator to remove all the old shells when others are still hatching? I'm paranoid about maintaining humidity but they're so cramped!
