Hi, I have a quail that is about 10 days and it is not as energetic as before. This morning it was up and running, eating and drinking as normal. When I checked up on it a few minutes ago, it was laying down and when I put my hand near it, no response. Normally, it would shoot up and run away. They are scared of me. I took it out and put it in a separate container.

The temperature is about 90 degrees. I have a dish where the quails can go eat when they are hungry, so no specific time when I feed. And no, the other chicks are normal.

Have you given it anything like Nutri-drench or Save-a-chick? It might be failure to thrive, or it might bounce back if you can get some food and water into it.

Make sure it's warm, and because it's alone, you might try providing a tiny stuffed animal or something for it to cuddle up with.

What are you using as your heat source, and how accurate is your thermometer? You'll want to start by bumping that temp up 5 degrees, they are very sensitive little ones.
Try to give this baby Nutri-Drench if you have it, and sugar water though a dropper. Use a syringe and make a drop at the end, place the baby's beak in it and hopefully he will drink. That should help boos his energy.
