Sudden death again

You said you sprayed your weeds with a weedkiller 2-4-D. That could have poisoned them. But since your new chickens are not dropping, they could have brought in a disease. Sevin should not have bothered them.
Two things I would do: take in some combined droppings in to your vet to test for possible coccidiosis, and any chicken that dies next should be refrigerated in a plastic bag, and sent in for a necropsy. Sorry for your loss. Here is a list of state vets and poultry labs, along with some info on sending a bird:

Fyi.
I made this today:
Necropsy and disease testing lab info

I would check the light bulb if you have one. Teflon is usually found coated on the outer layer of a bulb, and it can kill animals easily. If you bought a special heat bulb for chickens... then I don't know what is wrong, sorry.

I feed potato peels all of the time! No ill effects whatsoever.
Then maybe it was coincident feeding potatoe peels and dropping dead but she was perfectly healthy before she are them.I assumed that was cause of death because potatoe peels are on poisonous to chickens list.

Poisonous to Chickens
Plants from the nightshade family – Nightshade plants such as potatoes, tomatoes, and eggplants have a toxic substance in their unripened fruit and leaves called solanine that could be harmful to your flock. Even the peels of potatoes are potentially harmful and should be avoided. If you have a large amount of leftover nightshade vegetables (potatoes or peels

So far the sick hen is still alive. The vet is coming to the ranch tomorrow for other reasons and I’ll ask him and post his reply but typically not many vets have much experience with poultry around here.
I cleaned and bleached the coops and waterers and feeders and nesting boxes. Coincidentally all hens have not been laying for about a week, but in Texas the weather has been hot and cold, literally, and I seem to remember this same pattern this time last year. 2-4-D weed killer has no restrictions on use around poultry and livestock so I really don’t think that’s it.

We have actual nightshade weeds... which we recently sprayed with 2-4-D and then shredded. I wonder If they’ve been eating the clippings?! They’ve never messed with them before(have plenty of other options and animals seem to avoid that weed). However the chick that died did not have access to the weed...

Vet palpated the sick hen and it’s not egg binding. There is a small amount of fluid in the abdomen and her keel bone is very prominent indicating she’s been ill for quite some time. She’s isolated and I’m going to worm the flock. I cleaned everything with bleach. Just going to hope for the best. If I have any more get sick I will send off for necropsy though it costs $$ here in TX.

A necropsy here is only 50ish dollars.
50ish dollars is with a factual answer and not having to play the guessing game.

Did the vet run a fecal while he was there?
Worms can eat the life right out of a bird.

The fluid doesn't sound good.
'Sorry.

I have fed every one of these to my flock. I think that chickens are smart animals and God gave them instinct so can avoid the things that they think are bad.
