Sudden death in Ducks? More Dead!

@Tash76 I don’t know what medications you were using or how long so it’s hard to say what effect they may have had but meds are certainly dangerous . Extended use or high dosages of azithromycine can damage the heart and liver for example.

An ongoing respiratory infection could be aspergillosis. Asper can be cured with antifungals like itraconizole and treating the secondary infections that can arise from the weakened immune system that’s under attack from the fungus. It can be very hard to cure an aspergillosis infection, it’s also costly and time intensive. The infection and the medication to cure it can permanently damage the birds organs so the best method of dealing with Asper is prevention.
Aspergillus strains exist pretty much anywhere, waterfowl can be more prone to it being in damp environments, though the most likely source of infection for domestic birds is contaminated damp feed or bedding, though a bird kept in good conditions can still be infected if their immune system is compromised by another health issue.
There are a number of viral, parasitical, and bacterial factors that could also be the cause of your duck’s sickness. I think only a vet can say for certain what it is.
In future you could try VetRx or a bit of apple cider vinegar in their water, it won’t cure Asper or some of the other nastier things that could be causing the illness but it will help with the mild stuff. I’d also give them vitamins to boost their immune system, rooster booster is one you can find at tractor supply.

The 2 ducks that died are gone, I have 4 healthy ducks left, the 2 that died had ongoing infections one even got a boil on it’s foot of which was treated by the vet, I brought them time but I just think their lungs were weekend by to many cheAt infections and antibiotics and anti inflammatorys but thanks for the heads up on the rooster booster and the apple cider hopefully I’ll have better luck with the healthy ones left! Thanks for the advice and condolences!

The other four look great I’m really confused though I have two with drake feathers one only has 1 curl in it’s tail the other one has lots of curls in it’s tail, the one with lot’s of curls in it’s tail keeps jumping the one with only one curl in it’s tail, I have 2 definite girls, so either he’s gay or the one with only one curl in it’s tail is a girl, help please can a female have a curly tail feather?

From what I’ve seen with mine they don’t seem to care who, what, or how many particular partners they have at any one time and are even prone to necrophilia.
I saw three of mine “two girls and a drake” turn a nice snack of blackberries into a morbid exception. They must have thought the blackberry juice was blood and they got all excited....
