Hey guys, I let my chickies out this morning and everyone seemed fine and dandy. Came running out of the coop to spend time in the sun. That being said about an hour or so later after doing some yard work I went in the coop to grab something and was stopped by a hen in the middle of the coop laying on her side with her eyes closed… I thought she was dead but to my surprise she was still alive…. Just very cold.
I scooped her up took her inside and have her in my bathroom wrapped in a towel and have the heater on for her. She seems to be doing a little better as she’s opening her eyes now and not refusing food and water but I can’t figure out what is wrong with her…
She won’t eat or drink in her own unless I syringe it in her mouth. I’ve been giving her some applesauce thinking maybe her sugar was low… and it’s really easy for her to get down she seems to take that over food I have soaked for her. I have also mixed some chicken antibiotics in her water. This happened around 11:30 today and it’s now 11:11pm
This is my second hen I have found like this only difference is my large cinnamon queen was found almost flat as a pancake dead on her side in the exact same spot about 5 months ago.
I was thinking maybe she is egg bound but the symptoms I’ve read doesn’t match with what she has going on right now. She’s literally sleeping until I wake her up for some food and water and seems cold to the touch
She can move her legs and nothing seems hurt… she just isn’t standing

Was she tired/lethargic looking? Is she having trouble standing? I know nothing about diseases but probably get more water into her and keep her warm.

yes she is acting lethargic her eyes are almost always closed even when I’m feeding her or giving her water, though she has opened them for the first time about 10 or 20 minutes ago

And she didn’t seem to be prior to me finding her like I said everyone ran out of the coop

Hmm. A long time ago had a chick with the same symptoms. What's her rank on the pecking order? She might be dehydrated, but really I'm not sure..

I don’t see her get picked on much wouldn’t says she’s top dog but she’s definitely not a chicken that’s on the bottom of the totem pole :(

She can move her legs but won’t stand she’s been laying on her side she is alert right now and her eyes are fully open. Her poop is extremely runny and her comb is fine she has close to no comb though

How old is she? Does she normally lay eggs? Was she vaccinated for Mareks? Can you give her some water with electrolytes or a little sugar water? Watery chicken feed and cooked egg are also good. Make sure that she can reach food and water, and I would keep her separated inside to watch her closely.
