Sudden Duck Death

Thank you! I'll ask my dad if we have any oyster shell. And thank you for your kind messages, they are much appreciated. She still watches over my family, especially Misty and Jumbo.

Thank you, everyone. No one really monitored her egg amount that closely, we just knew it was a lot and thought it was two ducks. We didn't give her oyster shell (I thought it might've been food poisoning, but I doubt it). And would a drake really snap her neck? She was sort of the leader of the ducks. The other ducks were all friends with her. Again, thank you all for replying.
If you didn't' give OS, it makes me think its an egg issue from her laying so much. I preosnaly don't think a drake would snap her neck, that seems very unlikely. Plus, you probably would have noticed something abnormal about her neck when you found her. If it was food poisoning, like mold, you would have likely seen signs before she died IMO.

Thank you! But the feed specifically has a lot of calcium in it, so oyster shell isn't needed. I mean, I think. Would it help anyway?
Even though there is calcium in the feed, it doesn't mean you shouldn't offer extra. When ducks eat forage, table scraps treats, and anything other then a balanced feed, it dilutes the nutrients in the diet, including calcium. It's always a good idea to offer it.

Last night, Danni laid an egg.
So, apparently Monti was just a prolific layer even when Danni took a break. Or something... I don't remember when/if the egg laying diminished. When Monti died, the duck eggs stopped. So... well, now I'm completely bewildered. Please tell me if you think this changes anything about how she died.
